World of Warcraft is a very popular game that seems to be growing each day. If you have one of these accounts, as with most accounts, you have to worry about being hacked. When I received a temporary suspend on my Wow account because someone was on there selling gold/items for money, I immediately knew my account had been hacked. Since then, I have had to change my password two times. I have had 2 characters “mysteriously” show up on wow – Miriamdesfyb and Ashleydesfot were the two characters created.

Far too many World of Warcraft accounts are being hacked today. Once this malicious person has your account in their hands, it is going to be a big headache. Often times, like with my account, they use these hacked accounts for malicious purposes and will end up getting your account banned by Blizzard.  There are stories where hackers transferred characters to other realms or even worse: D-E-L-E-T-E. Oh, that’s horrible, especially if you worked so long on a character. I have heard of hackers going in and stealing accounts from guild officers, then going in and stealing thousands of gold from the guild bank and eventually, taking everyone else out of the guild. If you are hacked, then you can count on that personal gold and items of any value disappearing.

So, why in the first place do hackers hack your account? Well, it is because of money, really. Surely, you have witnessed those annoying spam messages from people trying to sell gold for money. Where do you think this gold comes from in the first place? That’s right, from compromised accounts. For many reasons, you should not buy gold. I mean, why would you want to? It’s cheating! It is also against the EULA that you agreed to. If this does not matter to you, then It should matter that you are only helping make the problem worse – before you know it, your account could be hacked. If you ever buy gold, then you are helping the problem – so don’t do it.

In my case, I don’t think anyone hacked my account for gold or items. I mean, all my stuff is still there. I think it’s just someone messing with me, trying to make it look like I am selling gold/items for money in hopes to get my account banned. The process of finding out who it is has already been enrolled – in turns, any accounts they are associated with will be banned indefinitely. I tell you people, Blizzard does not mess around when it comes to this.

NEVER give your account information out to anyone. Don’t give your CD codes, your password or your username. Don’t even give the e-mail you use on Blizzard. There is also a Blizzard Authenticator that you may want to look into purchasing.

From time to time, when you write blogs, you just have to have fun – whether it is “professional” or not. While with my business, I always try to maintain my professionalism, I still like to step out and be a little silly from time to time. Being a big World of Warcraft fan and mocking those who hate the game every chance I get, I decided that I would take a couple of minutes to compose a song. In no way does the ending reflect “my” opinion on the game. It does, however, reflect the thoughts of the Wow haters who believe that behind every video game rests a … well, you’ll just have to see in the end.

Christmas is right around the corner, so I have decided to do a Christmas post. One of the big things during Christmas time is the ever so popular Mistletoe. When someone hangs a mistletoe over your head, it’s time to pucker up. Why is it a custom to kiss under a mistletoe? This is a question that is asked by many and I am here to explain it to you this year …

This custom might be related to a Scandinavian goddess named Frigga. In Norse mythology, this is the goddess of love. She is associated with the mistletoe and we all know that the mistletoe has been a decoration in homes across the country for thousands of years.

Did you know that the mistletoe is behind many Pagan rituals? In fact, it is true that the Christian church did not like this plant because of Pagan rituals that it was associated with. It didn’t like it so much, that the Christian church forbade it from being used in any form. Strange, right? It is a fact that some of the English churches continued with this ban until the twentieth century.

Holly became a Christian substitute for mistletoe. This is why we “deck the halls” with holly. It has sharp pointed leaves that are said to symbolize the thorns that were in Christ’s crown. In today’s world when communication gap has become narrower this was not possible for the last previous years. String alga is also known as blanket weed and it can be quite the nuisance. Koi fish don’t seem to mind it being in a pond that has string algae growing on its surface. However, most humans build fish ponds so they can actually see the fish. They don’t want a pond that is covered in a mat of green algae. The Koi fish like to nibble on the algae and Koi fry play in the safety of the floating sea of green. People who wish to maintain blanket weed control often find that prevention is the best medicine.

An unbalanced pond enables blanket weed to thrive. Instead of merely treating the problem each time it arises, it’s best to figure out why your pond is unbalanced. When you’ve solved this problem, issues with string algae will be no more.

Two common factors that allow blanket weed to start growing are excessive sunlight and high nutrient levels. A pond that is located in the most intensely sunny places is primed for blanket weed. As for nutrient levels, you can test for phosphates and nitrates to see if these levels are running a bit high. Phosphate levels should be around .04 and .21 mg per Liter, while nitrate levels should remain between .12 and 1.25 mg per Liter.

High levels of nutrients have to be coming from somewhere. Some people fill their small ponds with water from the tap. This is commonly a source of excessive amounts of nutrients. You could test the tap water before putting it into the pond, just to eliminate this nutrient-rich source. Another method of locating where these elevated levels are originating from is to re-test the water after every nutrient-removing remedy is tried.

Algicides can be used in ponds that don’t have any type of plants in them. If this algae killer is used on a pond with plants, then it will kill the blanket weed and any other plants in the pond. There are other methods of killing blanket weed without using the most toxic form of algae killer around. Some algicides use plant extracts that naturally kill the string algae. Barley straw and nutrient digesting bacteria are two more natural remedies for blanket weed.

The barley straw is thought to be the best string algae cure around. It can be used in both water gardens and fish ponds, since it won’t cause harm to either fish or aquatic plants. This safe alternative to chemical algicides can be purchased online and from many stores that sell pond equipment. Barley has been found to have a higher success rate with eradicating blanket weed than wheat, maize, or linseed straw.

Blanket weed control has to start with skimming the large plants off the surface or using an algicide of some sort before barley straw can be used. It won’t eliminate the existing string algae, but it will prevent more from forming. It is a great long-term prevention to use in ponds where blanket weed is unwanted.

Many people are afraid of spiders, even ones as small and beautiful as Crab Spiders. These tiny arachnids don’t weave intricate webs like most other spiders. They use their camouflage ability to ambush and hunt prey. As their prey gets nearer to them, they reach out and grab it with their front legs. It’s amazing how much each type of Crab Spider can blend in with its flower of choice; the perfect camouflage. There are yellow ones that hang out on yellow flowers and pink ones that prefer dangling from pink flowers. Some are also able to change their color.

A prime example of how the art of camouflage has been finely tuned with these miniature spiders is by viewing one particular spider. The Goldenrod Crab Spider is bright yellow when on a Goldenrod flower and pure white when they are on a daisy. This type of spider has a special pigment in its body that allows it to make this change relatively easy. However, it takes this spider twice as long to turn yellow than it does to turn white. The reason it takes so long is because the yellow pigment is a liquid that the spider has to produce. To turn white, the spider only has to excrete this yellow pigment from its body.

These spiders get their name from their body shape and the way they move. They strongly resemble the crabs living in the ocean, due to their two front legs that angle outward and most have angular bodies. Also similar to the much larger marine crabs, they can move sideways or backwards. Their body shape will often determine where they are more likely to hunt. For instance, the spider mentioned above with tremendous color changing abilities is going to be found among either yellow or white flowers. The darker colored species of Crab Spider with a more flattened appearance is going to be found hunting under the loose bark or crevices on trees.

After a Crab Spider gets a hold of its prey, its fast acting venom is injected into whatever the spider has caught. These little spiders don’t bother with wrapping their prey in a silk package for later. They begin feeding on it right away.

People often have a negative attitude towards spiders. There are many reasons expressed as to why people feel the need to harm them. When they get in the house, most varieties make webs that dangle from the ceiling and in dark corners. This can be frustrating to someone who likes a clean and tidy house. These little webs are actually keeping the bug population down. Spiders are able to catch many stray flies, gnats, moths, and other tiny insects in their webs, which then keeps the house free of these bothersome bugs. Their favorite mealtime consists of flies or mites.

No matter how tiny the spider is most people feel the instant urge to squish it. It’s easy enough to put a cup over the top of the spider and slide a piece of paper under the cup. Once this is in place, the spider can be easily carried outside and set free. They usually end up in a house because of a gap somewhere to the outside. Most are more than happy to be returned to the outside after accidentally wandering into a human home.

A Crab Spider is also commonly referred to as a Flower Spider, since they are mostly found on flowers. Arachnids with the name Flower Spider attached to them are usually still in the family of Thomisidae, which is the family that all crab-like spiders belong to as well.

Flower Spiders are completely harmless to humans. They don’t hunt out sleeping humans to bite them and have been known to drop off of a flower as humans approach it. It’s not that they cannot bite, but that they would rather run away than confront a human. Even though they aren’t poisonous, it’s best to not pick them up with bare hands.

Measuring between a centimeter and 2 and a half centimeters, a Crab Spider is often too small to notice with a quick glance at a group of flowers. They can also be found in deserts, near the ocean, on mountain tops, and at both poles of the earth. These are hardy little creatures and can exist just about anywhere on the planet. The weather isn’t nearly as treacherous for a Crab Spider as other spiders are. They are so small that they are often the prey of other larger spiders. All in all, Crab Spiders are truly beautiful and colorful addition to the many wildflower gardens around the world.

With the economy, the way it is today, everyone has to tighten his or her belts and learn how to live on a budget.  Besides the utilities and house payment, food is an expensive part of your budget.  Here are five ways to stretch your dollar.

1)      Use coupons.  People say they are a bother and I use to be one of them until I saved over seventy dollars.  Our local store offers ten percent off their brand names so I make my list selecting their brand names.

2)      Buy meat in bulk and have it sliced.  For example, a whole pork roast is on sale for $1.89 a pound.  You have the meat department cut it into hunks for roasts or have them tenderize it in slices.  Take it home and freeze it.  Also, buy whole boneless hams and have sliced.  Put enough for a meal in a freezer bag and freeze.  Buy boneless only.  It may be a little more expensive but at least you are not paying for the bone.

3)      Make your own hamburger helper.  Add hamburger to boxes of mac and cheese, hamburger and brown gravy over mashed potatoes or egg noodles.  Check on line for recipes.

4)      Boil chicken legs and add meat to packages of chicken and noodles or Alfredo noodles.  You can even make barbeque chicken from the meat.  Just take it off the bone and shred it like pork.

5)      Buy in bulk and all family members share in the price and the product.

These are just a few hints to help you save money at the store.  I know this work because I use them.
